    Description

Very rare original cabinet card photograph showing an African American barber shop.  No notations on the photo, but in the image you can see a 1918 calendar on the wall advertising "Frank H. Stewart Electric Co.," which was a Philadelphia, PA based company.  I assume the shop was somewhere in the area of Philly.
It appears that the men getting their hair cut are WWI soldiers based on a Doughboy hat sitting on the radiator and their boots.  The looks on their faces are incredible.
Great piece of American history.  Coming from the estate of a long time antiques dealer, in their personal collection.
    Measures:  6-3/4" x 9"
Condition:  Missing portions of card stock backing.  General wear.
