These incredible 0.5 Grams Gold coins are a part of the Ancient Greece collection, reproducing some of the most famous coins of the past. The issues includes:
(A). The Octopus of Syracuse. The coin has Silk finish and features a beautiful design and comes in a case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of only 15000 pieces worldwide! The reverse of the coin shows the symbol chosen by the ancient city of Syracuse for its coinage. Syracuse in Sicily was founded by Ancient Greek Corinthians and Teneans. It grew to a very powerful city-state, was allied with Sparta and Corinth and exerted influence over the entirety of coastal areas of Southern Italy. Described by Cicero as the greatest Greek city and the most beautiful of them all, it equaled Athens in size during the fifth century BC. The octopus as a feature is probably due to the city’s proximity to the sea, fishing or the brisk trading in its port. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II“ – the name of the Queen, “5 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” – the country of issue and “2022” – the year of issue.

The reverse of the coin shows the symbol chosen by the ancient city of Akragas for its coinage. For the wealthy city of Akragas on Sicily this was the crab. Some believe the animal associates with Poseidon. Others suggest a connection to the Greek river-god Akragas. Limited mintage of 15.000 pieces worldwide! The reverse of the coin shows the symbol chosen by the ancient city of Cyzicus for its coinage. Cyzicus was one of the great trade cities of the ancient world. It was located on the Sea of Marmara and ruled by the Persian Empire until its capture by Alexander the Great in 334 BC. Tuna fishing was a cornerstone of the economy of Cyzicus, so much so that the animal became the defining feature of the coinage from the city. The two dolphins encircling Cyzicus’ tuna symbolize Poseidon, the god of the sea. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II“ – the name oft he Queen, “5 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” – the country of issue and “2022” – the year of issue.
