GODDESS OF MERCY WITH ONE THOUSAND HANDS Avalokiteśvara Eight Protectors 5 Oz Silver Coin 10$ Niue 2020
This impressive 5 Oz Silver coin is the first release in the “Eight Protectors” series and features the “Goddess of Mercy with one Thousand Hands”, the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara. The coin has an Antique Finish quality with spectacular High Relief and comes in a themed case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to 199 pcs worldwide. The reverse of the coin depicts the Thousand Hands Goddess of Mercy (Kuan Yin), in a Lotus Sutra, praying for all that who need her. The 5 Oz Silver coin is struck in anew minting technique that combines 28.5 Oz of Cooper in between two layers of fine-Silver resulting in super ultra-High Relief, while being topped off with Silver Antique Finishing. The technique allows the coin to have an incredible weight and feel in the hand together with 120mm diameter size. The obverse of the coin features a 8 symbols with a wheel of 12 zodiac animals, with the Rat highlighted as the animal the bodhisattva is protecting in the year 2020, finished with a round shaped YinYang as the backdrop for the legal tender. In the center of the obverse, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “NIUE ISLAND” - the issue country, “DOLLARS” – the face value, “2020” – the year of issue and “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen.
