Description
This beautiful coin is part of the series that pays tribute to the main cities along the ancient route of trade contacts. The route connected the European states in the Mediterranean Sea and the lands on the southern shore of the Baltic Sea. The route was named as the amber route. On the obverse we see an image of a chariot in which the Romans carried amber from the Baltic Sea to Italy. Behind the chariot on the left is an image of a Roman. The background has an image of a map with the Baltic Sea outlined. There is also an effigy of the Majesty of her Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse design features a picture of the city of Wroclaw. On the right side of the coin we see a sculpture of a knight with the sword and the spear in the elevation of the city. The bottom of the coin includes an image of a Roman coin dating from the days of the Amber Route and an amber inset.Country
