DESCRIPTION of the qualification award of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
The qualification badge is designed to be worn on casual and official uniforms.
For the formal and outgoing (everyday) uniform, the qualification badge is metal. It has in the center of the emblem an image of a silver-colored parachute with an open dome and axles, in the center of which is a sword with a wavy blade of yellow-hot color with the point downwards and a gold-colored handle.
On the right and left side are two unfolded wings of silver color.
Qualification badge size: height 30mm, width 70mm, wingspan 70mm, maximum wing height 20mm, parachute height 26mm, parachute dome height 10mm, parachute dome width 16mm, sword height 30mm.

Airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, DSHV ZSU, is a separate type of troops within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, designed to act as airborne troops, as well as to perform combat missions in the tactical and operational rear of the enemy. The troops include airborne, airborne and assault units.
Until 2012, they were called Aeromobile Forces (AeMV), in 2012-2017 they were called Airborne Landing Forces (VDV). Until 2016, the branch of amphibious troops was part of the Ground Forces.
The London International Institute for Strategic Studies, in its 2022 edition of The Military Balance, notes that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has 20,000 servicemen (7 brigades, 1 separate artillery division). The Russian Armed Forces are armed with 60 tanks (T-80), over 180 armored personnel carriers (BTR-D, BTR-3, BTR-4, BTR-80, Dozor-B), 75 amphibious assault vehicles (BMD-1, BMD-2) , as well as KrAZ Spartan armored vehicles. Artillery - 142 units (2C1 "Carnation", 2C3 "Acacia", BM-21 "Grad", D-30, 2C9 "Nona", 120-mm mortars), air defense equipment - Strela-10, ZU-23-2. [1]
