    Lee was selected to appear in the 1972 edition of
    Personalities of the South
    in recognition of past achievements and outstanding service to community and state. Certificate is in fair condition with toning/staining and torn/frayed edges
    Note: Lee was the First African American to have a portrait in the Rotunda of the Tennessee State Capitol. Lee was also the first African American to have a US post office named after him. In 1919 Lee was awarded the French  Croix de guerre  medal for bravery. His was the Senior Vice President of Atlanta Life Insurance Company until his death in 1976.
