Sold as a Set of 4 pieces.
Featured are a rare and original pair of antique stacking cabinets from China with beautiful wood veneers and patina.
The primary wood used was Yellow Pear. The quality is superb and they are completely functional and in excellent condition for being approximately 150 years old.
They are made up of two parts. The smaller and shallower upper low cabinet can sit on top of the lower main cabinet as shown. Or you can use them separately. At one time I set the two smaller cabinets on the floor to display sculptural items beneath a large painting on the wall above.
What is truly amazing about the construction is the veneers are relatively thin and these cabinets are not as heavy as they look. Two able bodied people can carry one of the larger cabinets quite easily. I've moved them by myself with just a hand truck.
The main cabinets are fitted with interior drawers as pictured and shelves that can be removed.
All handles and pulls are bronze.
Doors are all pegged in and easily removable in just seconds. They open and close perfectly and stay shut when closed. They are made of thicker woods and are much heavier than the rest of the cabinet construction.
I purchased these in 2004 from a San Francisco merchant named Chaos Antiques who imported directly from China. Their website is gone now, but whomever purchases these will get PDF copies of their website from that time that I saved which will give you a clear indication of the high quality of the various authentic Chinese antiques sold by them.
I have listed these for Local Pick-Up, but SHIPMENT or DELIVERY is possible.
Thus, I have not listed a shipping price as that is subject to many variables.
I am in the Tampa Bay area and can deliver them personally if you are within a thousand miles as my charge would probably still be cheaper than paying for freight shipping and also much safer.
Shipment to anywhere farther will require a freight shipment. Any delivery or shipment fees will have to be negotiated and paid for with the purchase price of the cabinets.
