This is a stunning Calegaro bowl/centerpiece hand hammered in solid sterling silver. A unique and contemporary design, one of a kind, this centerpiece is brand new, with its original dust bag, lifelong guarantee booklet and beautiful dark green croco embossed box. Brand new.
This beautiful bowl/centerpiece weight 270.9 grams and it measures 9 ½” in length and 7 ¼” in width.
Ever since the year of its foundation, Calegaro's production has carved for itself, together with its "home" items, an important position in its activity as a luxury contractor. For Tiffany, with an exclusive line of cutlery; for Bulgari, for whom we produced all the sets for an important chocolate house which opened in Tokyo; for Mikimoto, with the particular set of children's items. This list is longer and it could continue with the vases and objects produced for Hermes or for Montenapoleone, with the designer collection Buccellati, or with the Pavillon and Palio lines, bearing the name of Massimo Vignelli.
Also, let us not forget the collaborative work and numerous productions for Riva, Fiat, Alitalia, Bugatti, De Grisogono or for Rolex, all of which give our company credit for being recognized for the original distinctive feature of being able to produce items "made to measure".
Our tradition continues.
HISTORY
In 1921, Calegaro Silversmiths opened its doors in Del Santo Str. in the centre of Padua, just a few meters away from the world famous St Anthony’s Basilica.
It was originally a craftsman’s studio with its own shop and the basic idea was that of spreading the culture of silver. Not an easy aim to be achieved by a shop which would later become the first producer of silver items in Padua.
Its founder, Luigi Calegaro, drew on the tradition of the Venetian school and coupling his passion and dedication to hard work made the factory grow.
His entrepreneurial capacity soon showed with the application of procedures and the use of equipment which made it possible to boost production without neglecting the top quality of the items.
As post-war Padua expanded, the historic centre proved to be too small for what it had become, in 1960, a fully developed Company. By 1969, moving to Praglia at the foot of the Euganean Hills, had become a necessary step.
The passion for the precious metal required premises which had to be up to the level that the Company had reached. The answer to this was found in a marvellous XIX th century mansion which had belonged to Emo Capodilista, situated 7 kms from Padua and a few minute drive from Abano Terme.
