Description
This 2022 silver coin in color commemorates the Mutiny on the Bounty. Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in uncirculated quality, the coin depicts the Bounty - a British Admiralty three-master that set out on a voyage to the South Seas in 1787, led by Lieutenant William Bligh, to bring cuttings of the breadfruit tree from Tahiti to the Antilles. On the planned return voyage, the historic "Mutiny on the Bounty" occurred in 1789. The motive features a detailed depiction of the sailing ship. Below the Bounty, the denomination "1 DOLLAR" and the weight and fineness are shown. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the inscription "COOK ISLANDS" and the year of issue 2022.
