Here is a nice small antique Chinese armoire cabinet.
The front of the cabinet features 2 large doors that hinge on wood pivots. Each door has a rich red lacquer finish that is adorned with many gilt designs.
There is a wide flat apron below the door that has a hidden compartment behind it. The compartment is accessible from inside the cabinet by removing a section of the floor. The front of the apron, as well as the front frame of the cabinet, are all finished in black lacquer with gold designs.
There is a small red apron that is slightly recessed below the large apron.
The back and sides of the cabinet are all finished in a dark brown lacquer.
There are no shelves inside but there are supports on each side to hold 2 shelves, which can be easily added.
As can be seen in the photos there are some imperfections and the lacquer and small shrinkage cracks. This piece has had typical restoration found in pieces of this age, including replacement of hardware.
