2018 Tuvalu Warfare Vikings 2 oz .9999 Silver Antiqued High Relief Coin
The second in a three-coin series depicting legendary combative forces, this meticulously crafted coin portrays Viking warriors launching a raid from a longship. The coin is struck by The Perth Mint in Australia from 2 oz. of 99.99% pure silver in high relief to enhance the detailed portrayal of the scene. Its surface has been 'antiqued' by hand to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artifact, reflecting the historic theme of the design. As a result of this treatment the appearance of each coin in the limited mintage may vary. The reverse of the coin features Viking warriors charging maniacally through the water. Each warrior is seen roaring fearsomely to terrify their victims, with their armor and weaponry depicted in extraordinary detail. The design also includes The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination. The coin is issued as Tuvalu legal tender with a limited mintage of 2,000 pieces. Each coin is housed in a classic presentation case within a themed shipper and is accompanied by a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
